First of all, I just want to say thank you so much for everything that you did for Baker (now Bentley). He is truly the best dog that we could have ever asked for and I think that it’s a reflection of your organization and how much you care about your dogs.
Bentley is doing fantastic. His days consist of lots of walks, fetch, pup play dates, and cuddles/naps. He really is the best boy and has not met a dog or human that he does not love.
We have him in training and he has done really well with his leash skills and we are currently working on his recall.
He has adjusted very well to living with us and already knows his routine a little bit too well ;)
Everyone in our family and our friends absolutely adore Bentley and he has been the perfect addition for us and been so fulfilling and just these past short months. We are incredibly grateful for MomsVA and our best boy.
Oh my goodness!!! We are in love!!!!! I’m still in touch with Cathy so she is getting lots of photos and updates. 😊
He is coming into his true personality now. He is super spoiled! Sleeps between me and my husband, along with his sister, a Cavalier named Piper.
We just installed a new fence and he’s loving it! We also take daily walks in our neighborhood. When there is no other dogs in our neighborhood dog park, he enjoys the obstacles.
He is the sweetest boy! We feel like we hit the lottery with him.
Lady (AKA Jolene) has been doing great in her forever home. When we got her she tucked her tail a lot and was nervous and slow on walks for the first few days. She's opened up a ton. She'll now pull us down the sidewalk (not too hard though) and is confident meeting strangers and other dogs on the streets. She's met several guests that we've had over to our house and is usually laying in their lap within minutes. We've also gotten to the point where Lady is comfortable in the house when we can't be there. She's been to the vet a couple times and is up on all her vaccines and the vets have given her health high praise.
Everybody we walk by has a huge smile on their face when they see Lady because she's too darn cute. We love her and talk about how she's such a good girl multiple times per day. We feel so lucky to have adopted her and can't imagine our life before Lady. As you can imagine my phone and my wife's phone are filled with pictures of Lady. Thanks for checking in! Evan & Julie
Ruthie aka Kallie is doing amazing. She is fitting in perfectly with my 4 legged family.
She loves her big sister Marsh and big Brother Kodi, who I also adopted through you all. Kallie and Kodi are best friends. Marsh trys to hang with them but with her being 15 years old she likes to curl up with me and watch the 2 kids have fun and tease each other.
I couldnt have dreamed of a more perfect family. Her favorite spot is curled up under my are in bed or laying on my lap taking a nap, that's when shes not playing tug of war with Kodi. – Sarah N
Daisy (AKA Reba) is doing great! She has been such a great addition to our little family, and she adjusted quickly to her new home and backyard. We just finished a 6-week beginner training class at Petsmart, and she picked up on all the basic commands really fast, though she's a bit stubborn with some of them like 'drop it' when she gets a hold of mom's flip flops or socks! She loves her daily walks around our neighborhood, and is even reluctantly learning to not pull so hard trying to chase after squirrels! She is so fun, and super sweet. She is a great snuggler in the evening when she's tired from a busy day, and is the perfect size to be a lap dog.– Cheryl, Phil & Daisy
October 2018 Charlie found a forever best friend and the exercise partner he really needs! He's been getting plenty of outdoor time and loving every minute of it. Not only is he getting plenty of love and attention from his new person, but Charlie is meeting lots of other new human and dog friends too! He could not be happier in his new home.
Fiona [on the right] is doing great. . . .she is loving all the attention, treats, toys, bones, the couch, and the many dog beds. She takes a lot of naps and loves cuddling up on the couch next to one of us. Our little schnauzer, Zoey, is slowly getting used to her, and Fiona follows her around.
We had to go find her a better fitting sweater because the ones we had were too big for her to wear, and Fiona needed one because she is always cold outside. She is so loving and so happy. Last night we laughed watching her crawl through all the toy boxes, picking out toys. She carried each of them separately to the dog bed, and went back to get more. It was so cute, and her tail was wagging so fast....she was having such a good time. (As I'm writing this email, Fiona is sound asleep on the couch next to my daughter. She just loves being with everyone. She's so sweet.
Thank you so much for choosing us. We love her so much! Sincerely, Heather G.
Cher was a perfect match for me! Sarah was an excellent foster parent; and I appreciate her coming to my home twice.
[Cher] sleeps all night w me; greets me eagerly when I come home, and is a real people dog. . . . She loves my 3 young granddaughters, and when I have 12 women at my house for BUNCO night, she is in heaven. Loves all the attention! Anne H.
Dixie is totally amazing! Here’s this afternoon's episode of "Life with Dixie". She was on the futon earlier and moved the pillows onto a pile. Later she jumped back up and immediately nested in them. She is such a pleasure to have in our home - THANK YOU!!! Jerry and Kathy W (And MomsVA thanks Jerry & Kathy for opening their hearts and home to this very special dog with three legs.)
Hello, We adopted Jasmine back on June 11th and I just wanted to let you know that she is doing great and has been a great addition to our family. She loves her new sissy Lulu. They play all day and snuggle together. She loves sleeping in the bed with us and has already learned to sit, give paw, and lay down. I would appreciate if you could pass this email on to Nicole, her foster Mom, she had asked that we send her some pictures and let her know how she was doing. - Stacy
Good morning!
I just wanted to give a quick update on Lane (formerly Rascal). He is loving life in Northern Virginia and makes a great apartment pup! He lounges around all day while Mom works (see attached for some of his favorite poses) and loves to go to the dog park several times a day. He loves meeting new dogs and people all the time - and gets a little upset if he sees a new dog he can't say hi to! He had a visit to the vet and was tested for baby heartworms and we are happy to report that he is still in the clear! :) He is going on a camping trip for Dad's birthday this weekend and even tolerates the life vest Mom bought him!
Thank you all so much for allowing us to connect with our new family member! -Caitlin
Cora's new family says she fits right in!
We are extremely happy of how well adjusted Cora seems, as if she has been living here for a long time. She is already quite attached to us all and appears very comfortable here. She is quite alert and well behaved, and used to the schedule of the house. Cora has been enjoying the lakes, forests and farm we visit on a daily basis. . . . We feel very lucky to have adopted such a wonderful dog into our family and think she is happy in her new home. - Kriszta
Davis' mom says he is doing great!
Davis is such a lovable bundle of energy. He has adapted well to our family and acts like the "king of the neighborhood" when we take him for walks. Adopting Davis has added so much happiness to our family. Thank you all for wonderful work you do for these animals. - Irma A.
