Tanner, Young Male, 36 pounds, Richmond VA

My name is Tanner.  I was born around the end of September 2021 so I am just about full grown. I am very handsome and I LOVE to be with my people. My foster mom says I am a “great dog" and a "favorite” at doggy daycare. I really like all the attention I get when I go to PetSmart.

I love going for walks and exploring - then coming in for some cuddle time on the couch. The best home for me would be with a person and/or family that is ready to teach me all the good manners I need to grow into being my very best boy - and also includes new adventures so that I can see and learn new things.  If you think we could be a match, click here.

Keta, Young Female, 28 pounds, Richmond VA Courtesy Listing

Hello, I’m Keta and MomsVA is helping me find a new forever home. I am looking for an adventure partner. I love to hike, run free, ride with my head out the window, and dig in the water for special rocks. Between exercising and training, my favorite place to be is within reach of a good pet or belly rub, or even kisses if you’ll accept them!  In my young life, I have lived in a lot of places and met a lot of people. I really like people, even kids!
The best home for me is one with a strong pack leader that can tell me what needs to be done—I aim to please. I am food motivated and love to practice training. Even though I have been raised with my littermate sister, I would be best in a household without other dogs. You see, I get quite nervous around other dogs—even my own sister! I want to feel secure in my position in the household and around other dogs, and I need a leader and a home where I can feel safe and secure.

Gee Gee, Young Female, 10 pounds, Richmond VA

Well Hi There! They call me Gee Gee and say I am a beagle-chihuahua mix. I am 2 years young and full grown. I have been very sweet to all the other dogs I have met. I also love attention from people. My foster mom says I would probably do best as an only dog because I simply LOVE all the LOVE!
Sometimes when I have to go in my crate I will bark, hoping that my foster mom will let me out. It worked for me in the past and I am quite persistent. I am starting to realize that barking will not get me out of my crate, but it will take awhile so apartments, condos, and/or homes that share walls with other homes may not be the best fit for me.

Right now I also need a home without any small children. You see, I still think I have to protect my food and treats. My foster mom is working with me but I’m pretty stubborn about this so it is gonna take awhile for me to start believing that yummy things won’t get taken from me and never given back.

I’m not perfect but I am perfect for the right person or family.  I really can’t wait to find my forever home where I can burrow under my dog-bed and show you my best cute ‘squishy face.” It makes my foster mom melt EVERY TIME!  Click here if you think we could be a match.

Spencer

Spencer, Young Male, 46 pounds, Richmond VA

Hello there. My name is Spencer and they say I am around 18-24 months old. My foster mom rescued me from a really scary shelter and she says I am: Happy, Friendly, Silly, Goofy, Playful, Bouncy, Funny (she can go on and on!).  She says I make her laugh at least twice a day and that I am full of love and affection and ready to give it to give to some lucky family! I even like to hug! (but foster mom says I shouldn’t)

I am working extra hard on my house manners and doing pretty well if I do say so myself! I do like other social dogs, but I’ve never met a kitty.

I love my yard toys, my favorites are my crackle ball, my wiggle ball and my rubber frisbee! I can almost catch it! I do enjoy going for walks around the neighborhood but LOVE zooming around the yard, with or without toy in mouth,  showing off my athletics!

Cleo, Young Female, 60 pounds, Richmond VA

Hello. My name is Cleo and they call me a shepherd/mix. My foster mom says I am ‘super sweet’ because I love to cuddle with her. I also love to go for daily walks, hikes, and car rides – and I very much enjoy the water hose when it is on jet and sprayed at me!  I get into a cute pose just as the hose is about to “attack” me.

MomsVA has me in training and I wear an e-collar. My foster family is reinforcing  basic commands- sit, down, stay  and I am also working on walking next to my person and waiting for instructions. I am smart and I love to learn – especially all the praise and treats!
I get along with most of the dogs in my foster home but I can be a bit bossy sometimes. My e-collar has been helpful to let me know when my behavior needs a bit of re-thinking. ADOPTION application

The best home for me is one where folks have a lot of experience with dogs so that they can help me be the best girl I can be. If you think we could be a match, click here.
