Nugget (female) Richmond VA
Nugget is a 1 year-old dachshund/chihuahua mix weighing 18 lbs. She may be just a plain little brown dog, but she has a personality that will win you over. You can see from some of her pictures that she loves running in a fenced in yard but then she also can come in the house and be the best cuddler. Nugget is a little unsure of new things and new people, especially men, but she will warm up. She will need someone who can be patient with her and introduce her to new things and people slowly. When she gets really excited, she likes to give you a big smile and show all her teeth. Don't think she's growling at you, she's just showing you those pearly whites.

Spencer (male) Richmond VA
Hey! Spencer here, I’m a sweet boy, around 24 months old looking for my people!
I got rescued from a scary shelter and my foster mom says I’m just a Happy, Friendly, Silly, Goofy, Funny guy (she can go on and on). I think I have a lot to offer some lucky family, and everyone says I am so smart! I absolutely LOVE training classes and learning new things!! And my teacher says I am SO good at it!! I even pick things up faster than my foster mom! LOL
I can be a little shy at first, the world has not always been nice to me, but my foster mom is helping me get more and more confident every day. I hope my new family will continue to help me in my journey, by helping me feel safe and getting me out into the world! After my classes, I get some time in the yard where I can meet new pups! My teachers make sure it is a safe controlled environment which makes me happy. Some want to play, which I am totally up for, some not so much so I try to stay out of their way! I like to play and play hard so hopefully if my new home has a fur sibling, they will like to play too! Human siblings, probably best to keep them older cause I’m still just a kid myself and pretty bouncy.
My ideal home would have a fenced yard so I can run and play because I love my
zoomies! Better to get them out in the yard than in the house, my foster mom says! Plus I like to poop in the bushes off leash so there is that. I’m good in my crate, I am always up for a car ride or a walk around the neighborhood, and I am working hard on my loose leash skills! Oh and I like rubber toys that squeak!

Bleu is in immediate need of a new home due to circumstances that no longer allow me to provide the time, attention, and environment he truly deserves. My priority is finding him a safe, stable, and loving home as soon as possible. Bleu came into my care about two years ago when a former friend was unable to keep him and never returned for him. Since then, I’ve made sure he has been safe and cared for, but I am no longer able to meet his needs long-term.

Flash and Dash (males) Richmond VA
Flash and Dash are nine month old medium size to medium large size dogs who are brothers. I have only had them for a week and they are already incredibly loving with me. They follow me everywhere I go. They were raised around small children and are good with them. They are good with my small dog as well. They have shots but are not neutered yet. They are not yet house broken as they were raised in a cage and were left 8 to 10 hours a day since they were only 12 weeks old. We're working on that. They were malnourished and dehydrated when I got them. Since I've had them (5 days) they have really come back nicely.
Flash is the darker one in the picture and is more playful. Dash, the lighter one, is more calm. Even after only 5 days with no formal training, when we walk outside in our backyard along the creek and when I say come they come immediately. We have a wooded area so I do not walk them on the leash. I have walked them on a leash and both of them walk on a leash very well.

He loved me so much that he turned me in to the local shelter when he could no longer care for me. I don’t know that I understood what was happening, I was very scared and stressed. Then one day the shelter was invited to bring dogs out in hopes to get them adopted. It was at the Lucky Paw Fundraiser when one of their volunteers noticed me. They told her I was very kennel stressed, she talked them into letting her rescue me. Once home with her and her family it became very clear I was not well. They thought it was anxiety and change in the food. Unfortunately, after being neutered everything went south fast. I became extremely ill and they didn’t think I was going to make it. This nice family who rescued me from the shelter made sure I got the medical attention I needed. Once I was healthy they started to look for a home that I could call my own. They took me to Kat’s celebration of life event where I was introduced to a great family with a dog friend named Sasha. Unfortunately after 1 ½ years they realized we would never be able to coexist. You see I’m a sweet, cuddly boy with a heart full of love and a serious talent for snuggling. I’m looking for a new home where I can be the one and only pet.
