Dahlia's Dream Fund

Dahlia’s Dream Fund was created to raise funds and awareness of the emergency medical costs that often accompany a rescuer’s journey with an orphaned canine.

Dahlia knew all about emergency and complicated medical matters. In 2004, one of MomsVA founders took in Dahlia from the Abingdon County Shelter.  Dahlia was pregnant and soon had a difficult labor causing an emergency trip to the vet and surgical removal of a pup that did not make it. Dahlia was a terrific mother to her surviving pups and every one found a loving, forever home.

And Dahlia stole the heart of her foster mom who continued to care for her during intestinal health challenges, a clot in her pancreas, and a spot in her bladder which led to recurring infections and kidney failure. Dahlia was brave and loving until she left our world in April 2015.   A donation to Dahlia’s Dream Fund helps us provide medical care for sick and/or injured orphans in situations that go beyond routine vaccinations and spay/neuter.
